April 10 Fixing the Bent Beetle We finished The March Hare with the wing held on with Mole Grips  There was no apparent damage to the tub  Trying to make the new wing yellow.  A nice 30ft paint job! Click Here to see all the photos April 09 The best laid plans of Mice and Men! Have spent all day finishing the Beetle. The plan had been to work on the main site this evening with the report of Neils race at Oulton Park. Not to be, the main machine, that has all the web site files on it, had frozen. Now I have restarted it, its rebuilding its disc structure! It seems to work, I think that's because its a Raid 1 machine that mirrors two hard discs. Best not to touch it though as its churning away like a good-un! So, sitting in the kitchen, typing this on my MacBook. Then a bit to telly, catching up on last weekend NASCAR that I recorder, then an early night. October 25 The New Building at Chaos Manor was finished last weekI did the last bit, painting inside and finishing the floor. But its done now. Including the Silverstone Report/Pictures and some great material on three wheelers from Cliff Morrell. I probably won't be able to get started on this until the weekend. Meanwhile I am close to getting the new Motor House ready for occupation. Hopefully by the end of this week. Then its only a week to the Guy Fawkes where I hope to début my newly acquired, and very original, Mk1 Dellow LOC 827 that I have purchased from Richard Shirley. Been talking a lot to Neil about his racing plans for next year. We have some fun ideas. Karting fans will know its the London Cup this weekend so wish Alistair all the best. October 01 Update from Chaos Manor The building was 99% finished a couple of weeks ago and the access drive last week. Unfortunately there are some issues with the floor not being level enough. These are being sorted but I think it will be next week before I can get in properly. Meanwhile I have been painting it inside. Still not ready for The Edinburgh and must start looking at the Beetle. Lots to do today. August 23 Work on the new building at Chaos Manor was interrupted when these people in a balloon dropped in!July 16 Chaos at Chaos ManorClearing out the shed finished. The poor cars in the old garage are buried under piles of stuff. The shed comes down tomorrow. July 14 We are Building a new Garage at Chaos ManorWhile we have a nice Double Garage here it isn't that big. However, there is also a big shed and using that to store bits and pieces we had enough room for the Beetle and the Dellow. However, now we have the Seven we have run short of space, and I want to get another car, a Ford Model Y. So the plan is to build a 50 sq m Garage/Hobby room in the back garden, occupying a sort of dog leg that goes up to one side so you won't be able to see much of it from the back of the house. I have been working on the plans for the last three months and most of the detail is resolved. The work is scheduled to start next week but unfortunately the shed has to come down as it stands in the way of access. So I spent most of yesterday clearing it out. Not finished yet but I will have to get a move on as they want to come and take it down Wednesday or Thursday. |
